In 1020 AD, the Tunisian master "Ali ibn Ahmad al-Warraq" transcribed a monumental Quran on parchment, known as the "Nurse’s Quran" (Mushaf al-Hadina). For centuries, this beauty remained confined to museum shelves until calligrapher "Amer bin Jeddou" revived its spirit by establishing accessible rules and transforming it into stunning art pieces that attracted a new generation of enthusiasts.

As a designer who has spent decades digitizing Arabic scripts, it was essential for this heritage (Kufic Qayrawani) to find its path into the future through digitization. In 2020, I began my journey to transform this Qayrawani art into a computer font, based on the precise rules set by Mr. Amer bin Jeddou and supported by his extensive explanations throughout the project.

A Gift for the Future & A Tribute to Identity

Despite the long, strenuous hours of technical and artistic work, I chose for this creative endeavor to be my gift to all lovers of Kufic Qayrawani. My goal is to enhance the inclusivity of the Arabic script and integrate its ancient schools into our daily digital life.

This font is offered for free use as my contribution to enriching Arabic content and developing digital display and printing tools. While free, I emphasize the protection of the intellectual and literary rights of this software to prevent misuse or plagiarism.
